Job Summary

West Bend is looking to hire a Bureau Reporting Analyst within in the area f Workers Compensation Unit stat reporting.  We are looking for someone to balance the day to day reporting responsibilities of unit stat reporting to eleven statistical bureaus, while at the same time ensuring that impacts of corporate initiatives are accounted for.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Under general supervision work with bureau requirements, record layouts and changes required by bureaus. Translate the bureau requirements to IT for appropriate data capture and feeds to support bureau reporting. Complete regulatory bureau reports timely and accurately, ensuring financial data balances appropriately. Correct data quality issues within bureau data feed. Communicate clearly with Third party bureau processor on issues and processes.  Provide third party processor with needed support. Direct the tasks of team members as needed for data cleanup. Understand the storage, use and relevance of company data sources and policy and claims administration system in relation to bureau reporting. Share institutional, industry and technical knowledge with team members and provide support. Provide UAT validation of modifications to bureau reporting data feeds. Access impact of new products, coverages, new systems on bureau processing and clearly communicate those impacts and recommendations.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in multiline property and casualty insurance
  • Knowledge of statistical/reporting agencies including but not limited to: ISS, AAIS, NCCI, independent bureaus
  • Knowledge of ISO reporting requirements or the ability to learn them
  • Ability to triage data quality issues, documenting root causes and following company processes for resolution
  • Ability to identify process improvements in reporting environment
  • Track metrics that show performance of the bureau team
  • Experience with EDW and data structures and data flows
  • Ability to communicate bureau and business needs clearly
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong Excel knowledge

 

Preferred Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, equivalent experience or combination
  • Completion of General Insurance Designation, AU, CPCU
