Job Summary

Summary of Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include leading a team of claim managers, ensuring efficient operations, and supporting departmental goals and objectives. Establish policies and procedures to optimize the claim process, deliver superior customer service, and ensure compliance with best practices.

Serve as a key liaison across departments, fostering communication, resolving cross-functional challenges, and promoting a culture of collaboration and results.

Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and cost-saving opportunities. Use a mixture of data, experience, and judgment when making decisions. Leverage automation technologies to improve productivity and reduce cycle times.

Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for the team. Provide strategic direction for the department. Motivate staff to meet performance metrics and lead project work.

Evaluate external services and vendors to improve the claim process. Negotiate vendor contracts. Continuously optimizes workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Develop and oversee the budget for the department.

Provide guidance on escalated issues, ensuring effective dispute resolution. Ensure compliance with industry regulations by staying current with insurance laws and best practices.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Five years of experience managing or supervising a team of property adjusters.
  • In-depth knowledge of claims processes, policies, insurance products, and relevant regulations.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and leading a claims team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A talent for coaching and teambuilding.
  • Experience with claims management systems, process automation, and digital claims technologies.

 

Preferred Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance or related field.
  • CPCU Certification
