Job Summary

The Director of Personal Lines Products and Analytics leads the strategy and execution of product management, pricing, and data analytics for our Personal Lines business. This influential role calls for a visionary leader who can inspire teams, shape innovative products, and leverage data-driven insights to keep us ahead in a competitive insurance market.

Work Location

This position offers both remote and hybrid work locations.  Candidates who reside within 50 miles of an office location (West Bend, Madison, Appleton) will be offered a hybrid work schedule.  Candidates who are fully remote (beyond 50 miles) may occasionally be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events. 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Summary of Responsibilities

The Director - Personal Lines Products and Analytics will be responsible for overseeing the functions of product management, data and analytics, and pricing development within the Personal Lines department. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of the insurance industry. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the advancement of personal lines strategic product objectives in the mass affluent market segment. 
  • Serve as the division’s data owner. Develop and execute a data and analytics strategy to drive insights and support decision-making across personal lines. 
  • Support the pricing and analytical modeling work necessary to meet the division’s strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with product managers and pricing actuaries to develop and implement pricing strategies that balance profitability and competitiveness. Drive continuous improvement to pricing sophistication.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the team. 
  • Set clear goals and expectations, and ensure the team has the resources and support needed to succeed.
  • Work closely with other departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to ensure alignment and successful execution of initiatives. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • 10 years of experience in personal lines insurance.
  • 5 years of leadership experience.
  • 5 years in a product, pricing, or analytics role.
  • 5 years working with the mass affluent or high net worth market segment(s).
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across departments.

 

Preferred Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Insurance or related field

Salary Statement

The salary range for this position is $170,000-$200,000.   

 

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
