Job Summary

Join our Personal Lines team as a Rating Configuration Specialist, where you'll help shape the future of insurance pricing by translating business strategies into rating algorithms and rules. This role is perfect for someone with a sharp analytical mind, a knack for problem-solving, and a passion for precision—ideal for those who enjoy working across teams to bring clarity and accuracy to complex systems.

Work Location

This position offers a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are located within 50 miles of a West Bend office location will work a hybrid schedule for collaboration days, team meetings or other in-person events. The position can be based in West Bend, Appleton, or Madison.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Configure and maintain rating structures for Personal Lines products, ensuring system logic reflects current business strategies.
  • Interpret guidance from Actuarial and Product Management teams to develop and implement rating solutions within system capabilities.
  • Conduct validation of rating changes through structured testing and analysis, including preparing summaries of rate impacts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT and Underwriting, to troubleshoot and resolve rating discrepancies.
  • Produce manual rate pages and communicate rating information to rating vendors.
  • Support the evaluation of rating alternatives by providing data-driven insights and system feasibility assessments.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Experience with user acceptance testing
  • Experience defining business and system requirements
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and spreadsheet tools
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills

 

Preferred Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Associate in General Insurance designation
