Job Summary

The Bureau Specialist is responsible for independently managing the coordination, communication, and implementation of regulatory and bureau changes for designated lines of business. This role serves as a key liaison between regulatory organizations and internal teams, ensuring compliance with state and bureau standards. The Bureau Specialist  contributes to more complex rate, rule, and form adoptions, and supports product implementation and filing accuracy.

Work Location

This position offers a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are located within 50 miles of a West Bend office location will work a hybrid schedule for collaboration days, team meetings or other in-person events. The position can be based in West Bend, Madison or Appleton.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Working independently, coordinate, communicate and monitor regulatory changes to designated lines of business.
  • Monitor, coordinate, implement and communicate Rate Service Organization (ISO, NCCI, AAIS, etc.) revisions to designated lines of business. 
  • Participate in line of business rate reviews and provide requirements for more complex bureau rate/rule/form adoptions. 
  • Input, reformat, maintain, produce and revise current forms as needed and maintain insurance form files. 
  • Maintain bureau manuals and internal lines manuals. 
  • Prepare PDF and markup copies of documents requiring filing. 
  • Responsible for the compliance of company forms, procedures and rating programs within state statutes and regulations. 
  • Complete rate/rule & form filings with state insurance departments. 
  • Navigate & research systems for new product implementation as well as for defects & incidents.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • 2-4 years commercial multi-line underwriting or product development experience
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Knowledge of personal computers with emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF.
  • Time management and organizational skills

 

Preferred Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree in business, insurance or related field
  • Completion of Program in General Insurance
  • Associate in Underwriting designation

Salary Statement

The salary range for this position is $53,459-$105,143.   

 

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
