Job Summary

We’re looking for a Property Claims Adjuster to independently manage complex CL & PL property claims from investigation through resolution. This role involves evaluating coverage, assessing liability and damages, negotiating settlements, overseeing litigated files, and mentoring team members while ensuring exceptional customer service and compliance with audit standards.

Work Location

This is a fully remote/work from home role where you will spend 50% of your time in the field, servicing the Dubuque, IA territory. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events.

 

Responsibilities & Qualifications

We’re seeking an experienced Property Claims Adjuster to manage complex CL & PL property claims files with minimal supervision. In this role, you’ll investigate coverage, assess liability and damages, negotiate settlements, and oversee litigated cases. You’ll actively manage files, maintain proper reserves, present claims to committees, and mentor team members—all while delivering exceptional customer service and meeting audit standards.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

  • Proven experience handling large, complex claims

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Comfort with claims technology and file management tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, or related field

  • Professional designations (AIC, AINS, CPCU coursework)

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

This role offers the use of a company car for business purposes. Candidates must maintain a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record to be considered.

Salary Statement

The salary range for this position is $67,055 - $90,200.   

 

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  Compensation decisions are made by West Bend and are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
