Recognized as a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Top Workplace for 14 consecutive years, including three years of being honored as number one! Join us at West Bend, where we believe that our associates are our greatest asset. We hire talented individuals who are conscientious, dedicated, customer focused, and able to build lasting relationships. We create and maintain an environment where you feel a sense of belonging and appreciation. Your diversity of thought, experience, and knowledge are valued. We’re committed to fostering a welcoming culture, offering you opportunities for meaningful work and professional growth. More than a workplace, we celebrate our successes and take pride in serving our communities.

Job Summary

Develop and execute strategic plans to maximize business opportunities through independent insurance agencies within the assigned territory. Support, measure, and monitor internal and external sales efforts including short-term promotions, social media opportunities, rollovers, co-op, etc. Create specific goals for each agency that support and stimulate corporate profit and growth objectives.

Work Location

This is a fully remote/work from home role where you will spend 50% of your time in the field, servicing the Eastern Iowa territory. On occasion you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Own the Market. Build the Relationships. Drive the Growth.

This isn’t a sit-behind-a-desk sales role. We’re looking for someone who wants to become a trusted presence in the Eastern Iowa insurance market, someone who knows how to open doors, strengthen agency partnerships, spot opportunities, and turn relationships into profitable growth.

PLEASE NOTE: While the role is fully remote, Eastern Iowa is your market, so you’ll need to live within the territory and enjoy being out in it, connecting with independent agents and building our presence in the region.

What You’ll Be Taking On

You’ll have the opportunity to put your own stamp on the territory. That means understanding where the best opportunities are, developing a strategy to pursue them, and building relationships that create long-term value for both our agency partners and our business.

You’ll:

  • Own the strategy for Eastern Iowa. Develop a territory plan, identify where growth potential exists, and create meaningful goals for individual agencies.
  • Build a stronger agency network. Prospect for and appoint new agencies while deepening relationships with existing partners.
  • Be a resource agencies want to call. Learn their businesses, understand what’s getting in their way, and connect them with solutions, products, and resources that can help them succeed.
  • Bring the market back to us. Keep a close eye on competitors, industry developments, regulatory changes, and what you’re hearing from agents. Your perspective will help inform Sales and Underwriting decisions.
  • Turn numbers into opportunities. Monitor agency and territory performance, identify trends, and recognize where a different approach could drive better results.
  • Create energy around our products and partnerships. Develop training, promotions, webinars, events, and sales initiatives that give agencies practical ways to grow their business.
  • Work closely with Underwriting. Bring agency insight and market knowledge to the table as we evaluate opportunities and make decisions together.
  • Recognize what’s working and what isn’t. Conduct agency performance reviews, support the Partners in Excellence program, and identify training or service gaps before they become obstacles.

The Background That Will Help You Succeed

We’re looking for someone who understands the P&C world but is equally comfortable with the people side of the business.

You’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of property and casualty insurance experience
  • Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting, and industry regulations
  • A track record of building relationships and delivering sales results
  • The confidence to prospect, negotiate, present, and influence
  • Strong business instincts and the ability to use data to make decisions
  • The independence to manage your own territory without losing the ability to collaborate closely with others
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in helping agency partners succeed
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Dynamics, SharePoint, and Power BI

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Insurance, or a related field preferred
  • CIC or CPCU designation required
  • Valid agent’s license required
  • Valid driver’s license required

What Makes This Opportunity Different

You won’t simply inherit a list of agencies and maintain relationships. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how we grow in Eastern Iowa. It’s a role for someone who likes having ownership, getting into the market, building credibility with agents, and seeing the direct connection between the relationships they develop and the results they deliver.
