Responsible for driving the vision, roadmap and execution of emerging issues and market opportunities. You will work closely with line of business product managers and specialists to develop forms and programs to grow market share.
Specific duties include:
- Research and identify new or underserved markets for growth opportunities.
- Work with Specialty counterparts to identify opportunities for BOP.
- State expansion research to help prioritize growth.
- Build relationships with key departments to facilitate creation of new products.
- Help create insurance product strategy, drive rapid insurance product development, and support all state expansion efforts. This includes prioritizing Product Management Wishlist to build out and continually refine product roadmap in line with research findings.
- Become an expert in the competitive landscape. Maintaining a deep understanding of market dynamics, needs and opportunities, current and emerging trends, as well as traditional and disruptive factors affecting the industry.
- Foster competitive intelligence through market analysis of competitor pricing and product activities.
- Manage SBG and Programs for product improvements and adjustments for measured success.
- Uses expertise in various internal systems, metrics and reports to analyze and interpret Commercial product data that facilitates the roll out of new products and enhancements to agents, RSMs and UW Staff.

This internship is designed for college students who desire to have a career in the insurance industry. You will be trained on one or more of our Commercial product lines. Work post-training will include underwriting new business quotes, renewal business, along with additional projects as needed. You will be paired with an experienced mentor who will review your work, assist in answering your questions, and provide additional insights into our culture. We will also expose you to other functional areas within our organization including Claims, Loss Prevention, and Sales. Additional opportunities may include job shadowing with experienced Underwriters, traveling with Loss Prevention to learn about different business, visiting an agency to acquire knowledge about how the agency interacts with underwriting, and conducting presentations on your experiences.

The Information Security Analyst Intern will work closely with senior members of the team to support a comprehensive information security program. This includes contributing to the definition of security policies, processes, and standards. The security analyst intern may work with the IT department to deploy technical controls, to meet specific security requirements, and monitors to ensure that security configurations are maintained and effective.
This position may work from our offices in West Bend, Madison, Waukesha, Appleton, or remote.
Summary of Responsibilities
Working independently, coordinate, communicate and monitor regulatory changes to designated lines of business. Monitor, coordinate, implement and communicate Rate Service Organization (ISO, NCCI, AAIS, etc.) revisions to designated lines of business. Participate in state rate reviews and provide requirements for more complex lines of business. Prepare training materials and provide training to underwriters for implemented revisions and introduction of new products. Input, reformat, maintain, produce and revise current forms as needed and maintain insurance form files. Maintain bureau manuals and internal lines manuals. Prepare PDF and markup copies of documents requiring filing. Responsible for the compliance of company forms, procedures and rating programs within state statutes and regulations. Complete rate/rule & form filings with state insurance departments. Provides requirements for internet and intranet systems. Tests system changes. Assists system users in resolving their processing problems.
This position may work from our offices in West Bend, Madison, or Appleton.

As a Customer Care Sales Representative, you’ll work with new leads, and have the potential to earn quarterly bonuses in addition to base compensation.
Summary of Responsibilities
As a licensed agent, secure new business presented to us through leads from our agency partners. Work with customers to identify their exposures and provide them with insurance products to reduce their exposure risk. Educate customers on insurance coverage and make recommendations based on their needs. Cross-sell additional products and coverages to help enhance accounts. Work with underwriting to provide comprehensive, competitive quotes. Communicate with the customer in an easy-to-understand, jargon-free manner. Communicate regularly with agency partners to discuss individual accounts and quality of submissions. Provide exceptional service to all customers. Document all activities within our agency management system. May handle overflow calls in other phone queues based on volume and departmental needs. Other responsibilities may be assigned.

*Our Customer Care Center is open Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm CST. The work schedule for this position is 9:00 am - 5:30 pm Monday - Friday with coverage until 7:00 pm 1-2 times per month.
Summary of Responsibilities
As a licensed agent, handle calls and emails to service our Commercial Lines Customer Care book of business. Work with underwriters and agents to service accounts. Provide a superior level of service to all customers. Answer questions, provide information, and act in a consultative manner with our policyholders’ regarding commercial lines coverages and products. Cross sell additional products/coverage (i.e. umbrella) to help enhance an account. Within the West Bend letter of authority, underwrite policyholder changes.
Handle inquiries from policyholders and agents in an easy-to-understand, jargon-free manner. Complete First Notice of Loss for policyholders, agents and claimants who are directly reporting new losses. Generate certificates of insurance at the caller's request. Issue Instant Issue Bonds at the caller's request. Document all activities within our management system.
Handle overflow calls for the Personal Lines Customer Care Center team. May provide assistance in other phone queues based on volume and departmental needs, such as policyholder payment processing queue, work comp pool queue, and other miscellaneous phone queues. Other like duties may be assigned by management.

As a Claim Representative Support Intern, you will review and analyze policies to verify coverage, establish reserves, and settle claims for less complex losses. Other responsibilities will include contact with customers to explain coverage, settle their claims and contribute to the high customer service results within the claims department. Conduct market research on competitors and develop new insurance products at the direction of the Product Manager. Collaborate with Corporate Product Compliance (CPC) on template upgrades, bureau changes, and other requests. Provide technical training to underwriters for new and existing products or services. Research and develop new forms, draft manuscript endorsements, maintain manuals, provide technical consultation support to underwriters and Regional Managers, research and prepare technical articles and training materials, provide the Sales & Marketing departments with content for brochures & trade shows, assist with reinsurance questions and implementation of changes due to revisions in reinsurance contracts, participate in underwriting file reviews and the assessment of training needs at a Region and/or Profit Center level.
